eXPEDITIONS was born inside our private Dance Floor Heretics Tribe (join us HERE), when we asked a simple question: do you want more DJs on a lineup, or longer sets from each DJ? The response was overwhelming, you wanted time to settle into a groove, to be taken on a proper journey, not rushed from act to act.
That answer became the foundation of eXPEDITIONS. This event is about voyages through sound, where each DJ is your guide rather than just a quick stop on a busy timetable. Instead of cramming as many names as possible onto a flyer, we’re giving every artist the space to build something meaningful.
A night built on 2-hour journeys
For eXPEDITIONS, every DJ on the lineup gets a full 2-hour set. That’s 120 minutes to warm you up, lock you in, push the energy, pull it back and land you somewhere completely different from where you started. No rush, no pressure to slam bangers from the first track – just time to curate a trip to their chosen destination.
This format lets the music and the crowd breathe. It’s the difference between a highlight reel and a full story: slow builds, unexpected turns, those long blends that change the room without you even noticing at first. It’s the kind of pacing you’ve been asking for, and we’re listening.
Inspired by the Tribe
We don’t take the Dance Floor Heretics Tribe for granted – you shape the direction of what we do. The poll made it clear that Adelaide’s ravers are craving:
- - Longer, more immersive sets
- - Fewer changeovers and less interruption
- - A chance to properly connect with each DJ’s sound
eXPEDITIONS is our response to that. It’s an experiment, but it’s also a statement: we believe in trusting DJs with time, and trusting the crowd to go the distance with them.
